POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As part of an Extraordinary team, the Systems Administrator will play a key role in supporting the implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of Niagara Health's patient-facing digital solutions, with a primary focus on the Health Records Self-Registration Kiosk initiative. Working closely with Health Records, Registration, Clinical Informatics, ICT teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders, the incumbent will help design, implement, test, and support workflows that improve patient access, registration efficiency, data quality, and privacy compliance.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for requirements gathering, workflow analysis, system configuration, testing, issue resolution, training, and vendor coordination. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between end users, project teams, and technology partners to ensure solutions meet clinical and operational needs while supporting Niagara Health's digital transformation objectives.

The successful candidate will dedicate a significant portion of their time to the planning, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational transition of Niagara Health's Self-Registration Kiosk program, supporting patient identity management, registration workflows, privacy requirements, and user adoption activities.

This position may require participation in after-hours support activities and project implementations. The primary work location is the Welland Site; travel between Niagara Health sites may be required. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of one on-site day per week, with additional on-site presence as operational needs dictate, subject to change.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Lead and support implementation activities related to patient self-registration kiosks and associated Health Information Management workflows.
o Collaborate with Health Records, Registration, Clinical Operations, Digital Health, and vendors to gather requirements and define business processes.
o Coordinate system configuration, testing, validation, and deployment activities.
o Develop test plans, test scripts, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
o Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application, workflow, and integration issues.
o Coordinate software upgrades, patches, and system enhancements.
o Monitor solution performance and identify opportunities for optimization and process improvement.
o Develop and maintain system documentation, workflow diagrams, policies, procedures, and training materials.
o Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions to staff and super users.
o Support privacy, security, and regulatory requirements related to the collection and management of patient information.
o Liaise with vendors and external partners to coordinate issue resolution and enhancement requests.
o Participate in project meetings, status reporting, risk management, and implementation planning activities.
o Assist with change management and adoption activities to support successful deployment of new technologies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
o Three-year diploma or undergraduate degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
o Minimum three to five years of experience supporting healthcare information systems, digital health solutions, or clinical/business applications.
o Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment preferred.
o Experience participating in technology implementation projects, system upgrades, or workflow redesign initiatives.
o Experience working directly with vendors and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
o Experience supporting healthcare applications, patient registration systems, electronic health records (EHR), or health information systems preferred.
o Experience with software testing methodologies, including system testing and user acceptance testing.
o Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
o Knowledge of healthcare workflows, patient registration processes, and health information management practices considered an asset.
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications including Excel, Word, Teams.
o Experience with reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development considered an asset.
o Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, healthcare integrations, and interoperability concepts is an asset.
