WAGE RANGE: $55.320 PER HOUR
The position is compensated according to an established wage grid, with progression through the steps occurring in accordance with applicable policies until reaching the maximum of the salary range.

Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations, you will provide strategic and operational labour relations expertise in support of Niagara Health's goals, initiatives, and continued growth. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, directors, and managers, you will play a key role in building positive labour-management relationships while supporting organizational effectiveness in a complex, unionized healthcare environment.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant organizational initiatives, including projects associated with planning, transition, and operational readiness activities. You will collaborate with leaders across the organization to address complex labour relations matters, support workforce transformation initiatives, and help ensure the successful implementation of strategic priorities. This is a temporary full-time position with an anticipated duration of approximately two (2) years, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while gaining valuable experience within Niagara Health.
This position is based in Welland, with required travel between Hospital sites.
Your role:
As a Labour Relations Consultant you will:
o Partner with leaders to provide strategic guidance and support on a broad range of labour relations matters
o Interpret and administer the Hospital's six collective agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and labour relations best practices
o Lead and support workplace investigations, including fact gathering, interviews, analysis, and recommendations
o Manage and resolve grievances through effective consultation, issue resolution, and collaboration with union representatives
o Participate in collective bargaining preparation and negotiations, including research, analysis, proposal development, and implementation activities
o Lead and contribute to labour relations projects and strategic initiatives, including those related to the Hospital's growth, expansion, and new site development
o Monitor legislative, regulatory, and labour relations developments and provide proactive recommendations to support organizational compliance and risk mitigation

Qualifications:
o University degree related to Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or Labour Relations
o Demonstrated progress toward a CHRP designation
o A minimum of four years' experience in labour relations, including; handling grievances, participating in negotiations, conducting investigations, and working with managers to implement restructuring plans
o Experience preferably achieved in a Hospital setting with multiple unions
o Knowledge of employment related legislation and current employment practices
o Demonstrated experience leading projects and organizational initiatives from planning through implementation
o Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
