WAGE RANGE: $61.298 PER HOUR
The position is compensated according to an established wage grid, with progression through the steps occurring in accordance with applicable policies until reaching the maximum of the salary range.

As a Hospitalist Midwife, you will promote clinical excellence and deliver high-quality, patient- and family-centered care by providing comprehensive, full-scope midwifery services across the Women and Babies program. Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will partner closely with physicians, nursing, and interprofessional team members to support safe, timely, and coordinated care.
YOUR ROLE:
As the Hospitalist Midwife, you will:
o Provide comprehensive, full-scope midwifery care, including advanced assessment, diagnosis, management, and coordinator of care across the Women and Babies Program
o Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and interprofessional team members to deliver safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centred care
o Apply advanced clinical expertise and critical thinking to support optimal patient outcomes
o Support quality improvement, patient safety and evidence-based practice initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and care delivery
o Contribute to ongoing education, mentorship, simulation activities, and team competency development
o Promote positive working relationships and contribute to a respectful, collaborative, and inclusive team culture

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Midwives of Ontario (CMO)
o Minimum 5-10 years of recent clinical experience as a midwife in a full-scope, hospital-based setting, including Intrapartum and postpartum care
o Postgraduate Surgical First Assist certification for Caesarean birth completed or in progress at time of hire; candidates without certification must obtain it within one (1) year of employment
o Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
o Current Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) certification
o Demonstrated experience as a clinical preceptor/educator to midwifery students and learners (minimum 5 years preferred)
o Proven ability to serve as a clinical resource and role model to midwives, nursing staff, and interprofessional team members
o Advanced clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills in acute care obstetrics
o Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a high-functioning interprofessional team
o Proven leadership experience, including participation in team, program, or organizational change initiatives
o Proficiency with Health Information Systems and Microsoft Office applications
o Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education
o Ability to work flexible hours to support 24/7 clinical operations
o Reliable attendance and ability to maintain a consistent presence in a critical clinical role
ASSETS:
o Active hospital privileges/credentials (or eligibility) within an acute care organization
o Experience in program development, interested party engagement, or system-level initiatives
o Bilingualism (English/French)
