LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL - ST. CATHARINES SITE (HOME SITE)
HOURS OF WORK: AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED FOR DAYS, AFTERNOONS, NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. SHIFTS MAY BE OFFERED IN ADVANCE OR ARISE ON SHORT NOTICE, INCLUDING LAST MINUTE CALL-INS, BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEEDS

WAGE RANGE: $26.610 TO 28.537 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Clerical Supervisor and Clinical Manager, the Clerk, Mental Health functions as a member of the team, striving to provide an excellent patient experience. The Clerk's role is to support the Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions Program by providing reception, clerical, secretarial and administrative support to the various clinics. This position is required to travel to multi-sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Medical Office Assistant certificate or graduate from an equivalent program
o Medical terminology certificate
o Minimum of one year experience working in a mental health setting (outpatient mental health, inpatient, psychiatrists office)
o Working knowledge of medical office procedures and office equipment, i.e. photocopiers, fax, voice mail systems etc
o Must be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute
o Excellent computer skills required including the ability to operate all Microsoft applications
o Knowledgeable and proficient with Millennium (Cerner) Scheduling
o Working knowledge of Millennium scanning procedure
o Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with mental health clients, their families and community agencies
o Demonstrated knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, terminology and medications
o Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health legislation (MHA, forms, privacy)
o Knowledge of Recovery based care and the inter-professional team practice
o Ability to multi task in a high paced, high volume clinic setting
o Evidence of effective customer service, interpersonal communication and organizational skills
o Consistent and regular attendance required
