LOCATION: WELLAND SITE
HOURS OF WORK: AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED FOR DAYS, AFTERNOONS, NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. SHIFTS MAY BE OFFERED IN ADVANCE OR ARISE ON SHORT NOTICE, INCLUDING LAST-MINUTE CALL-INS, BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEEDS.

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-CLERICAL
WAGE RANGE: $26.610 TO $28.537 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager, the Registration Clerk is a member of the Diagnostic Services Interdisciplinary team. The primary role of the Registration Clerk will be to provide secretarial, clerical, reception and administrative support to the various Diagnostic modalities. This position will also assist with support requests from Diagnostic staff and perform additional tasks/projects as directed by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or recognized equivalent experience
o Medical Terminology Course with proficiency in Diagnostic Imaging Terminology
o One year recent experience within the last two years with hospital inpatient and outpatient registration and Admission/Discharge/Transfer database
o Experience in HIS, Meditech, ITS, Admissions, and IMPAX
o One year experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs
o Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 50 w.p.m
o Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
o Excellent communication skills and ability to respect the confidentially of personnel and patient information
o Compliance with confidential requirements under the Niagara Health System Privacy Policy
o Demonstrated professional attitude while interacting with the public, patients, employees and medical staff
o Ability to cope with frequent interruptions while maintaining deadlines and expected registration turnaround time and work in a multi-tasking environment
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Consistent and regular attendance required
