LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST. CATHARINES SITE
HOURS OF WORK: MONDAY-FRIDAY, AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED FOR DAYS, AFTERNOONS, NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS. SHIFTS MAY BE OFFERED IN ADVANCE OR ARISE ON SHORT NOTICE, INCLUDING LAST-MINUTE CALL-INS, BASED ON OPERATIONAL NEEDS

WAGE RANGE: $27.143 TO $29.077 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clerk Receptionist functions as a member of the Walker Family Cancer Centre multi-disciplinary team, striving to provide an excellent patient experience. The clerk receptionist's role will be to provide reception, clerical, secretarial and administrative support within the chemotherapy, clinic, radiation treatment areas, and supportive care areas of the program. The successful candidate's home site will be the St. Catharines site, and must be willing to work at two (2) or more sites. Shift rotations are subject to change. The focus of this role will be in the Walker Family Cancer Centre Clinics - Radiation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of a medical office administration program or medical terminology certificate, and equivalent and related experience
o Working experience, transcribing and or understanding/utilizing medical terminology
o One year related clerical experience in a high volume, fast paced department within a healthcare/setting
o One year experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office programs, with data entry experience
o Experience working in WFCC Oncology department processing physician/chemo orders and scheduling into Millennium and Mosaiq
o Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 50 w.p.m
o Experience in order entry/Meditech
o Demonstrated ability to work with attention to detail and accuracy
o Demonstrated ability to work calmly effectively within an interdisciplinary team-oriented environment
o Compliance with confidential requirements under the NH Privacy Policy
o Effective professional interactions with public, patients, colleagues and medical staff demonstrating Patient Client Centred Care
o Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with high regard for confidentiality
o Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize workload, and work effectively and independently with minimal supervision
o Familiarity and knowledge of general office equipment
o Consistent and regular attendance required
