We are seeking a Quality, Patient Safety and Risk Advisor to support organizational quality improvement, incidient management, and risk processes through data analysis, coordination of review activities, and governance support. Reporting jointly to the manager, Quality & Patient Safety and the Manager of Risk, this entry-level professional role will offer direct exposure to organizational quality strategy, leadership reporting, and complex systems-level improvement initiatives, and provide a strong foundation for professional growth within quality, patient safety, and risk management. Through active participation in review processes and performance reporting, the Advisor contributes to strengthening organizational learning, transparency, and continuous improvement practices.

As a member of the Quality, Patient Safety & Risk Management team, the Advisor supports departmental operations and may be required to work outside regular hospital business hours as needed.

YOUR ROLE

As a Quality Advisor, you will:

o Maintain, audit, and report on the electronic Incident Reporting System (IRS), including tracking critical incidents and identifying trends for escalation to leadership
o Coordinate and support Quality of Care Reviews and Root Cause Analyses, ensuring documentation, action tracking, and follow-up of recommendations
o Prepare quality performance and incident reports
o Coordinate committee workflows, prepare documentation, capture key decisions and actions, and support risk-related case management processes
o Collaborate with Quality & Patient Safety, Risk colleagues on organizational initiatives (eg. Accreditation)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience
o Bachelor's degree required (Health Sciences, Nursing, Public Health, Business, or related discipline preferred. Masters Degree is considered an asset)
o Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare, quality improvement, patient safety, risk management, healthcare operations, or a related field
o Experience participating in or supporting quality, safety, or risk initiatives in a healthcare environment
o Clinical experience in an acute care setting considered an asset
o Current registration with a health professional regulatory body and/or membership in a relevant professional association preferred

Knowledge and Technical Competencies
o Foundational knowledge of quality improvement methodology (e.g., IHI Model for Improvement, Lean/Six Sigma) and core QI tools (process mapping, cause-and-effect diagrams, Pareto charts, FMEA, etc.)
o Experience with performance measurement, data analysis, and preparation of reports for leadership audiences
o Working knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation (e.g., Excellent Care for All Act) and risk principles
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio) and comfort working with data systems

Professional Skills
o Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clinical leaders, interdisciplinary teams, and patient partners
o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail in complex environments
o Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
