DEPARTMENT: AMBULATORY SERVICES - PAIN CLINIC
LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST. CATHARINES
HOURS OF WORK: 15 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD; MON-FRI 800-1600
POSTING DATE: 25 NOVEMBER 2025

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-SERVICE
WAGE RANGE: $26.776 TO $28.168 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager the incumbent will be responsible for the cleaning, decontaminating, washing and disassembling of clinic/OR equipment. Ability to communicate with the public, physicians and other hospital departments, answering phones, taking messages and filing. Cleaning duties and any other relevant duties as directed. Shift rotations are subject to change.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Successful completion of a Personal Support Worker program from a recognized Ontario college or accredited institution
o One-year experience in an ambulatory care environment
o Knowledge of and experience in digital scope cleaning and processing
o Demonstrated understanding of proper body mechanics when pushing, pulling, lifting and transferring
o Working knowledge of stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, etc.
o Knowledge of proper sanitization and cleaning techniques
o Additional education in sterile techniques an asset
o Must be able to stand for extended periods
o Good communication skills, both verbal and written
o Ability to work both independently and as a team member in all areas, able to communicate with the public in a friendly and caring manner
o Able to take direction from nursing staff and follow through as required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
