WAGE RANGE: $49.897 - $58.684

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Information and Communication Technology department of Niagara Health supports multiple complex systems to enhance patient care across the Niagara Region. As a member of the cross-functional Interoperability and Business Intelligence team, the System Administrator (Interoperability) will play a key role in systems integration, Health Information System (HIS) maintenance and report development. As a part of interoperability this position involves support of variety of custom development. Additionally, successful candidate will work closely with clinical and business groups to enhance and improve the current use of the HIS while maintaining system standards and prioritizing and implementing approved change requests. This position requires a systems thinker with strong analytical, development and organizational skills who is creative, detail oriented, organized and thrives on working in a fast-paced environment. This position takes part in the on-call rotation.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Coordinating with vendors, external partners, and the clinical community to ensure information systems meets the organization's needs
o Creating reports and dashboards to support decision making by the clinical community, identifying relevant sources of data/evidence in order to assess the quality and benefits of information and draw appropriate conclusions
o Coordinating software updates and changes
o Identify and act on improvement opportunities to ensure optimization of systems
o Experience with a health information system would be an asset
o Delivering of periodic training sessions to Niagara Health staff


QUALIFICATIONS:
o Three year diploma or undergraduate degree in a health or computer related field
o Experience in a clinical setting or as a registered healthcare professional would be an asset
o Five years' experience working in a hospital or environment relating to health care would be an asset
o Ability to multitask and process numerous requests under tight deadlines
o Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
o Familiarity with MOSAIQ, EV2, clinical unit workflows, Meditech, Millenium, lab applications, diagnostic imaging applications, or other similar clinical applications
o ITIL certification would be an asset
o Ability to learn new areas of unfamiliar territory in a fast paced environment
o Experience with Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and SharePoint
o Background/experience providing project or technology based support to a team
o Experience with hospital based computer systems
o Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of affected parties
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
