HOURS OF WORK: ON CALL AS NEEDED

WAGE RANGE: $27.567 to $29.563

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Regional Supervisor of Accounts Receivable, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for billing and collecting various types of charges to patients, insurance companies and third party providers for all NH hospital sites. Duties will include compiling, reviewing and submitting billing documentation, addressing patient billing inquiries, and making collection phone calls to patients or other agencies. This position entails running reports, reviewing the billing history of unpaid accounts and following up on outstanding A/R balances, working with other departments on revenue maximization, performing some cashier functions and any other accounts receivable duties as required. Some paid inter-site travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Secondary School diploma
o College level course in bookkeeping or accounting
o Recent experience (within last 2 years) in computerized Accounts Receivable/Billing functions in a health care setting
o Strong financial background in a high-pressure, time sensitive computerized environment
o Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
o Meditech B/AR experience required
o Knowledge of all aspects of health care billing required
o Knowledge of OHIP schedule of benefits and health care billing legislation
o Experience billing patients, insurance companies and third party providers in a high volume setting
o Experience in follow up and collection of delinquent accounts
o Experience handling and balancing cash floats
o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
o Superior customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team setting
o Working Knowledge of relevant office equipment. (Fax machine, Voice Mail, Photocopier, Laser Printers, Website)
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
