LOCATION: ST CATHARINES SITE
HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD; PRIMARILY NIGHTS, DAY ROTATION, WEEKENDS, ON-CALL

WAGE RANGE: $42.240 TO $53.280 per hour
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Acting in a leadership capacity at the St Catharines Site, the Senior Technologist will assist the Regional Director, Manager and Charge Tech to ensure standardization, quality and the efficient utilization of resources within the CT Scan Department. This includes working to promote Imaging excellence, quality patient/client centered care and high professional standards. The objective of the Senior Technologist role is to facilitate optimal imaging and staff performance to meet organizational and program service goals with active involvement in all aspects of the service. The role of the Senior Technologist includes the provision of safe and competent care through the application of imaging knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist Program in Radiology
o Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario MRT (R)
o Minimum five years related clinical experience in CT
o CAMRT professional development programs, CT I, II and III or other CT continuing education
o Recent supervisory/leadership experience
o Demonstrated expert knowledge and skill in the production and assessment of diagnostic CT images including the ability to provide functional guidance to staff and to review and monitor the work of others
o Advanced analytical skills, education and knowledge of Hospital standards and CT Imaging equipment and processes including the ability to monitor and maintain protocols, procedures, and equipment records
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional development and the ability to apply knowledge gained to the changing needs and demands of the department
o Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately to a crisis situation in a leadership capacity
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting practice standards as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario and the MOHLTC
o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving
o Working knowledge of Hospital and Diagnostic Imaging Information and Imaging Systems and other related computer systems
o Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick, paid holidays and call backs
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
