DEPARTMENT: OPERATION MONARCH - INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
LOCATION: NIAGARA HEALTH ALL HOSPITAL SITES (AS NEEDED)
HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD
DURATION: 8 MONTHS

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Niagara Health is entering an era of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary future, which includes significant investments in digital health technologies that scale both within and beyond the walls of the hospital. As a valued member of the HIS Training Team, you will play a key role in the delivery and support of our Project Monarch Training Strategy. The successful candidate will support various project-based activities alongside project team members including, but not limited to, training delivery, change management tasks and go live/stabilization support during all project phases. A key component of this responsibility will be facilitating and supporting the institutional transition to the use of the new HIS.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Training:
o Attend project team meetings on a regular basis
o Identify and resolve issues including escalating when required
o Facilitate in person training sessions utilizing adult learning principles and classroom management/presentation skills
o Collaborate with Training Specialist in departmental outreach in preparation for go live
o Facilitate hands-on exercises and simulations to reinforce practical skills and boost confidence in using the HIS system.
o Maintenance of training materials including sign in sheets, devices, and Learning Lab participant guides
o Apply competent HIS knowledge and expertise to facilitate training and support for all assigned courses/applications
o Articulate and teach use of clinical systems for maximum knowledge translation across groups of differing experience/expertise, with varying digital skill levels
Go Live:
o Participate in Go Live support to all hospital sites (includes the potential for evening, weekend, and overnight shifts)
o Provide hands-on support to staff, physicians, learners and researchers (end users) during Go-Live;
o Assist end users in workflow adoption. Provide one-on-one guidance, application and workflow support, and troubleshooting with end users;
o Identify and resolve issues and escalate when required, aligned with standard processes;
o Communicate information and changes to end users;
o Support documentation and administrative activities.

o Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare setting, implementing innovative technology;

o Increase public speaking skills and experience
o Increase experience working with cross-functional teams;
o Increase experience with specific healthcare technology software;
o Increase experience in audience-appropriate communication to cross-functional teams with range of learning styles.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Enrolled in post-secondary education, specializing in Health Science, Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
o Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, with the ability to work with diverse group of healthcare stakeholders (Medical staff, Physicians, Project managers, etc.)
o Must be able to learn quickly, understand and apply new technologies
o Demonstrated ability to work independently and also as a contributing team member
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
o Enrollment in a health informatics or similar program; knowledge of clinical workflows is an asset
o Previous health care environment or computer technology experience would be an asset
o Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, Teams)
o Proven analytical skills with an aptitude for problem-solving and critical thinking
o Excellent attendance and highly reliable
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
