POSITION OBJECTIVE:
In alignment with the Mission, Vision and Values of Niagara Health, we are recruiting a dynamic leader who excels in engaging people, promoting quality, building successful teams, planning and decision making. Reporting to the WFCC Clinical Manager of Radiation Medicine, the successful individual will maintain the day to day operations of the WFCC radiation department. In this role you will monitor the day to day operations of the department including maintaining daily and weekly staffing assignments, radiation therapist on-call and stand by schedules, managing and coordinating time off requests, managing patient schedules for efficiency and consistency, supporting and implementing off protocol processes, supporting and following up with disease site committees, leading special projects when instructed, monitoring patient flow trackers and facilitating investigations and delays in patient flow, and implementing and maintaining processes that support quality data submissions and data corrections. All other duties as assigned.
The successful candidates will be a highly motivated, self-directed, results oriented leader who consistently demonstrates an innovative, creative, and collaborative leadership style. They must also have an in-depth understanding of radiation medicine treatment and planning and be able to supervise the administration of safe radiation treatment. After hours on call management support to the site on a rotational basis are required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline. Master's degree preferred
o Current registration with the CMRITO
o Demonstrated knowledge of the RHPA and Individual Regulatory College Standards of Practice
o Minimum of 5 years recent experience in radiation therapy with experience in the following clinical areas preferred (i.e. Treatment units, CT Sim, treatment planning).
o Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of quality improvement
o Sound analytical skills including; conceptualizing, developing and executing a wide variety of projects
o Working knowledge of regulated legislation, labour agreements, WFCC radiation medicine policies/ procedures
o Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice
o Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an inter-professional team
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
o Superior interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, change management, visionary thinking, organizational skills, effective customer service, decision-making skills and problem solving
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in healthcare and/or business
o Familiarity with program development related to Outpatient Oncology care is an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
