POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Niagara Health is entering a time of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future that includes a focus on digital health technologies that scale both within and far beyond the traditional walls of the hospital. As Niagara Health advances its work in digital transformation and embarks on the implementation of a new Health Information System (HIS), a number of clinical, non-clinical and technical initiatives and activities are underway to support the overall HIS implementation.
As a valued member of the team, the Project Coordinator will play a role in delivering transformational projects that will maximize investments while remaining on time, on scope and on budget. The successful candidate will coordinate and lead various project-based activities alongside the Project Manager including but not limited to project delivery and change management tasks during all project phases. An important accountability is maintaining and developing new Project Management Tools and Templates through the Centre of Excellence that support our best practice Project Management methodology and well as creation of Project and Portfolio Level reporting. The Project Coordinator, HIS should have strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Work closely with the HIS Project Control Office Manager and HIS team members to create project work plans in coordination with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
o Plan, schedule and manage project scope, deliverables, timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
o Estimate development efforts and define activities to support project deliverables and establish milestones
o Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
o Develop, manage and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations
o Manage the daily operational aspects of a project enforcing project standards, anticipating and troubleshooting issues and minimizing the hospital's exposure to risk
o Collaborate and facilitate requirements gathering within a multi-disciplinary team environment
o Anticipate and analyze risks and issues, explore alternatives, develop appropriate recommendations with project and technical teams and present issue to leadership
QUALIFICATIONS:
o College Diploma specializing in business, project management or a health related field required
o Experience in a health care/public sector preferred
o CAPM or PMP designation is an asset
o Experience with Microsoft Suite including MS Project and SharePoint
o Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
o Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate in a meaningful way
o Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities
o Familiarity with healthcare information systems, interfaces, HL7, ITIL, and/or enterprise architecture an asset
SKILLS:
o Ability to apply project management knowledge and expertise (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization)
o Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, coaching and negotiation
o Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action
o Resilience and ability to persevere in difficult situations, overcome obstacles, and reach high levels of performance when faced with stressful work situations and time pressures
o Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
