LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST. CATHARINES
HOURS OF WORK: Availability is required for days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts may be offered in advance or arise on short notice, including last minute call-ins, based on operational needs

WAGE RANGE: $41.150 TO $58.980 per hour

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Interventional Radiology is a dynamic and evolving program at Niagara Health. As such, Registered Nurses are essential to providing safe and high quality care in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for procedural sedation, ongoing assessment, management of complex patients, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The Registered Nurse supports patients pre-procedure, intra-procedure and post-procedure to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. This position schedule is rotating shifts and will include on call. The successful candidate's home site will be the St. Catharines Site and travel between sites is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
o Two years related clinical experience in the past 2 years in critical care or emergency department nursing
o Previous angiography/interventional radiology nursing experience
o Current BCLS and ACLS certification
o Must be able to work wearing a lead apron/vest (20lbs) for prolonged periods of time
o Must be able to fulfill on-call responsibilities (evening, weekend, nights) to support emergent patient needs
o ECG Interpretation and procedural sedation experience mandatory
o Additional nursing skills required: triaging patients, venipuncture, arterial line pressure monitoring, airway management, Capnography, central line infusion skills, administration of conscious sedation and reversal medications according to policies
o Demonstrated knowledge of the assessment and management of unstable adult patients
o Demonstrated knowledge of the nursing care planning process and evidence of the ability to utilize problem-solving and critical thinking techniques effectively in a critical care setting
o Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
o Ability to work accurately and efficiently in critical high stress situations
o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
o Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centered care
o Applies leadership skills by providing, facilitating and promoting quality patient care
o Demonstrated commitment to patient and family education and the ability to promote health and wellness
o Evidence of accurate, timely and appropriate documentation according to best practice guidelines and CNO standards
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving
o Consistent and regular attendance required
