WAGE RANGE: $37.283 TO $42.182 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager, Spiritual Care, the After-Hours On- Call Spiritual Care Provider will provide holistic care to patients, families, staff, and volunteers on an on-call basis for urgent referrals across Niagara Health. Functioning as a member of the inter-professional healthcare team in the provision of spiritual care, duties may include supportive counselling, provision of rituals, sacramental ministry, support at end-of-life and crisis intervention. Call-in hours are 4:30 pm to 8:30 am weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and statutory holidays. The successful candidate will become part of a self-scheduling, rotating team covering all five Niagara Health sites, under the direction of the Manager for Spiritual and Religious Care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Completion of a Master's degree either in Divinity, Theology or a clinically relevant field
o Completion of a minimum, two units of Clinical Psychospiritual Education (CPE)
o Membership with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC)
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Strong knowledge of relevant community resources available.
o Superior knowledge of issues, principles and practices related to spiritual and religious care
o Ability to integrate spirituality and psychology in clinical practice
o Good working knowledge of Professional and Clinical Ethics
o Ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Training in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) will be considered an asset
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
