WAGE RANGE: $50.719 TO $57.384 per hour

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
An integral part of the Finance and Capital Project Redevelopment teams, the Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for various programs of Niagara Health, with a particular focus on capital assets including buildings and equipment. Responsible for capital assets, projects, and funding/grant reporting against budget, leading the annual capital budget process, preparation of external funding reconciliations for capital projects, related journal entry preparation, account analysis, variance analysis, audit working papers and any other financial analysis required for internal and external reporting purposes. Strong analytical and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with capital project and program leadership teams, providing insightful judgement, analysis, and reporting for evidence-based decision making informing the future of healthcare services. An energetic and enthusiastic individual willing to take initiative combined with the ability to work in a pressurized, time sensitive environment makes you our ideal candidate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Professional Accounting Designation (CPA) required
o Bachelor or Master's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or related discipline with an Accounting major
o Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial analysis
o Understanding of GAAP, PSAS and Ministry Information Standards (OHRS/MIS certificate)
o Knowledge of capital assets and capital project accounting an asset
o Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to explain key financial variances
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel functions such as vlookups and pivot tables
o Solid experience with computerized accounting systems; Meditech financial systems experience an asset
o Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team
o Proven ability to manage a diversified workload, meet multiple deadlines, and thrive in a time-sensitive environment.
o Evidence of effective organization, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
o Flexible and self directed with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Consistent and regular attendance required
