POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As part of the IT Technical Infrastructure Team, the Technical Analyst will provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organization's end device computing environment such as tablets, smartphones, PCs, thin clients, audio/visual and voice communications (i.e. Vocera) . This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. This role takes part of the on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
o Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future end-user device needs
o Able to support a variety of devices at all our sites across the Niagara Region
Acquisition & Deployment
o Conduct research on end-user devices in support of standardization and procurement efforts. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase
o Write technical specifications for purchase of end-user devices and related products
Operational Management
o Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex computer problems for end users, and recommend and implement corrective solutions, including offsite repair for remote users as needed
o Accurately document instances of equipment failure, repair installation and removal, as well as moves and changes
o Record and manage equipment sent to repair depots for equipment under warranty or service contracts
o Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required deskside service levels
o Assess the need for and implement performance upgrades to end-user devices based on software technical specifications
o Collaborate with LAN technicians/network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company's end-user computing environment
o Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation networking software products
o Receive and respond to incoming calls, service desk tickets, email, or chat regarding equipment incidents
o Answer to and perform moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests
o Prepare tests and applications for monitoring desktop performance, and then provide performance statistics and reports
o Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring end-user device operations
o Develop and maintain an inventory of all monitors, keyboards, hard drives, network cards, and other components and equipment as needed
o If necessary, liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
o College Diploma in Computer Technology or University Degree in Computer Science and/or 5-10 years equivalent work experience
o Strong knowledge in Microsoft Intune, SCCM, PowerShell and Windows OS management
o ITIL Foundation certification is required
o Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate is required
o Other certifications in Microsoft SCCM/SCOM & Microsoft 365 would be an asset
o Experience with ServiceNow preferred
o Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, systems, or products
o Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel required
o Self-starter with ability to self-manage at required service and work performance standards; Able to set high standards for results, and once achieved, able to raise the standards even higher
o Previous Healthcare Experience would be an asset
o Proven ability to create and maintain procedure documentation
o Actively involved in continuing education opportunities
o Proven ability to work with a wide range of affected internal and external parties, while building strong relationships
o Proven analytical skills with an aptitude for process evaluation and problem-solving
o Ability to learn new areas of unfamiliar territory
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgement, critical thinking and decision-making skills
o Ability to meet, prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and deadlines
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proven analytical skills with an aptitude for process evaluation and problem-solving
o Ability to learn new areas of unfamiliar territory
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgement, critical thinking and decision-making skills
o Ability to meet, prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and deadlines
