WAGE RANGE: $51.10 TO $68.41 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a key member of the pharmacy team, you will apply your communication, teaching and assessment skills in the delivery of training and education to pharmacy staff. You will collaborate with the pharmacy leadership team and work with staff to determine their clinical, technical and teaching needs to plan, develop, implement and evaluate education and development programs to enhance clinical proficiency, quality improvement and team skills. You will ensure the plan aligns with pharmacy program priorities and the strategic plan. You will also work with pharmacy management to support individual staff learning plans, and provide clinical guidance and expertise through coaching and/or mentoring. Standard onboarding is critical to the creation of a cohesive pharmacy team; education and training of new hires are responsibilities within this role.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: engaging in quality improvement/safety initiatives or projects; supporting direct patient care activities; supporting practice improvement activities; participating in committees and supporting associated work; other work as assigned.
The pharmacy program is committed to the learning organization culture. As such, you will act as a preceptor to both pharmacist students and interns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o BSc Pharmacy or PharmD
o Current registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists part A
o Hospital pharmacy residency required
o Demonstrated professional development and formal teaching/education experience and/or certification in Adult Education with proven ability to achieve education and practice outcomes through programs delivered to individuals and groups
o Minimum of 5 years continuous full-time hospital pharmacy experience required (within the last 8-10 years)
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Demonstrated effective problem solving and critical thinking skills
o Demonstrated leadership qualities
o Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a team enviornment to meet defined goals
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
