WAGE RANGE: $26.025 to $27.909 per hour
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the General Accounting Clerk will be responsible for performing the role of Cashier for the Greater Niagara General Site. Duties include collecting payments, addressing billing inquiries from customers at the cashier window, processing mail payments, entering charges on patient and client accounts, counting & replenishing floats, processing returned mail and any other accounts receivable duties as required. This position may also involve cashier replacement at other Niagara Health sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of a Secondary School Diploma
o Recent experience (within last 2 years) in computerized Accounts Receivable/Billing functions in a health care setting
o Strong financial background in a high-pressure, time sensitive computerized environment
o Recent cashier experience in a high volume computerized setting
o Experience handling and balancing cash floats
o Knowledge of all aspects of health care billing
o Superior customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team setting
o Excellent computer skills in all Microsoft applications (i.e. Word. Excel, Outlook)
o Meditech experience
o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set priorities in a fast-paced environment
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
