POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Services, the Environmental Services Aide will perform a variety of service related activities including office cleaning, public areas cleaning, support service locations and the removal, proper segregation, documentation, and transportation of general/biomedical waste. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the distribution and collection of linen, daily upkeep and maintenance of nursing units including patient rooms, ordering & stocking of housekeeping supplies, and operating cleaning equipment. The incumbent may be responsible for floor restoration, wall washing, curtain changes and isolation cleaning. Shift rotations are subject to change.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum grade 12 or equivalent
o Previous experience working in an Environmental Services capacity, preferably in a Healthcare setting
o Knowledge of the use of proper body mechanics to meet the physical demands of the job, for prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling carts
o Knowledge and understanding of WHMIS
o Knowledge and understanding of the PIDAC Environmental Cleaning best practices

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Radiation Therapy Department at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is an expanding program that provides state-of-the-art treatment planning, simulation, and treatment for external beam radiation. Our centre has 3 Linear Accelerators and a CT simulator. The radiation therapist works within a multi-disciplinary department team consisting of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Oncology Nursing, Booking Clerks, Secretaries, and Health Care Aides who collaboratively provide comprehensive patient-centred support to create the best patient experience per the values of Niagara Health. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include administering radiation treatment according to a radiation oncologists' orders for the delivery of radiation planning and treatment, adherence to the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Standards of Practice, documentation of technical and patient related treatment information, integrating reflection, critical thinking, education, and relevant practical experience in problem-solving. QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiation Therapy

The Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced nursing support through symptom management, comprehensive patient assessments, completing oncology procedures such as bone marrows aspirations and paracentesis, ordering of required medication, bloodwork and DI tests and facilitating advanced care planning discussions. The NP will collaborate with oncologists to support admissions and post discharge follow ups. Additionally, she/he will provide education to all stakeholders regarding admission avoidance strategies and participate in or lead other activities designed to improve care for cancer patients across the disease trajectory. This role will require collaboration with Oncologists, Oncology Nurses, Palliative Care providers, Inpatients and Emergency Department Staff. The Niagara Health Knowledge Institute (NHKI) was established in May 2023 as a one-of-a-kind Knowledge Institute affiliated with Niagara Health, a community hospital in Canada, integrating a strong applied health research and education hub with impactful clinical programs. The NHKI is led by Dr. Jennifer Tsang, the Executive Director and Chief Scientist.
The purpose of the NHKI is to improve patient care and experience by embedding research into clinical practice and the vision is to transform healthcare through leading community hospital-based research. To this end, we are seeking to fill the position of a Research Scientist with a researcher who has experience in the field of health systems research and can contribute scientific inquiry aligned to one of the strategic initiatives of the NHKI: research capacity building, and/or patient experience and engagement, and/or care of older persons, and/or the learning health system. The successful candidate will have an established record of research related to the theory, design and/or implementation of interventions in one of these areas as demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals, peer-reviewed funded research, conference presentations, and proficiency in applying health research methods to advance care in health services, health systems and population health research initiatives. An established record of collaboration is also a prerequisite for this position.
The NHKI also has a strategic focus on research training and mentorship and therefore the successful candidate will be a regular and engaged contributor to the Health Research Methodology Graduate Program or other educational programs at McMaster University. This includes, but is not limited to, course delivery, supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and participation in other educational and knowledge translation activities. The successful candidate is expected to seek salary support and research grants from competitive research funding agencies including but not limited to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) or the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Physician Assistant will be a collaborative member of the Niagara Health Medicine program. The PA is responsible for providing direct patient care, including the assessment, management, and treatment of adult patients in accordance with the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario's policy on delegation and site-specific medical directives. The PA will be providing patient care in acute, complex continuing care, clinic, and ambulatory care settings. The PA is expected to work collaboratively under the direction of supervising physician(s) with nursing, allied health, and other members of the patient care team including consulting services. The role will entail working closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to promote efficient and patient-centered care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of a Canadian or US accredited Physician Assistant Education Program
o Must be certified (CCPA or PA-C) or eligible for certification through the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) or NCCPA (US certification)
o Current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment, and competencies required for safe practice and patient safety as outlined in the professions' Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs)/National Competency Profile
o ACLS certification
o Preference given to candidates with previous geriatric, adult acute/critical care, or internal medicine experience
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to document clinical encounters in a thorough and efficient manner
o Demonstrates role flexibility and superior organization skills
o Ability to work efficiently to prioritize multiple, competing tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment in an interprofessional healthcare environment

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Functioning as a team player, the Medical Laboratory Technologist will support all staff in the provision of quality laboratory services to assist physicians and other health care providers in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. This includes performing quality laboratory testing according to legislative requirements in all of the following specialties: Chemistry, Hematology, Transfusion Medicine and specimen collection and handling.
The Medical Laboratory Technologist will focus on continuous monitoring and improvement of practices in order to meet or exceed our patient/client needs and will support the mission, vision and values as determined by Niagara Health while providing safe and competent patient/client care. The successful candidate's home site will be the Welland Hospital Site and must be willing to work at two or more laboratory sites. o Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology Program
o Current registration as a Medical Laboratory Technologist with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario with license to practice relevant specialties in Laboratory Medicine
o Two years related clinical laboratory experience in the past five years in a similar hospital environment
o Working knowledge of processing medical laboratory specimens

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a key member of the interdisciplinary health care team, you will apply your critical thinking skills and knowledge of drug therapy in the provision of safe and effective medication-related care for patients of Niagara Health.
