As a pivotal member of the executive team, the Executive Vice President, Medical Affairs (EVP) will oversee strategic and operational corporate initiatives as they relate to professional staff. They will be accountable for the operations of Medical Affairs and oversee quality improvement and utilization improvement initiatives. The EVP will partner with academic institutions to support and grow medical education at NH.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Working to promote excellence, quality patient/client care and high professional standards, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for performing outpatient respiratory diagnostic, education and therapeutic interventions to a diverse patient population. The incumbent will assist individuals to monitor, detect and prevent cardiopulmonary disorders and associated complications; correlate the individuals cardiopulmonary status to their overall health status and evaluate progress toward goals; and provide education and promote self management for the enhancement of health and quality of life. Professional support through comprehensive evidenced informed care will also be provided to various clinical populations to optimize health, recovery and quality of life including adult patients with Asthma, COPD and IPF. Pediatric patients are also seen in the Asthma clinic
Registered Respiratory Therapist may be required to work in critical care areas; perform mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation and advanced respiratory procedures. The objective of the Respiratory Therapist is to provide safe and competent care through the application of practical knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. The incumbent will perform all other relevant duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the unit to which s/he is assigned. Travel between sites is required.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Services within the Nursing Professional Practice, the successful candidate will be a part of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Team (WOCT) with responsibility across all sites of Niagara Health (NH). The WOC nurses provide advanced wound, ostomy and continence care through the assessment, treatment, management of wounds (such as pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, arterial/ischemic ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, complex surgical wounds and palliative wounds), ostomy consultation, and continence challenges. The WOCT also plays a pivotal role in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Pressure Injuries (HAPIs) by educating patients, families and staff on the risks and strategies around HAPIs. Some of the duties include but are not restricted to advanced wound care, ostomy and continence consultation; working with community providers to ensure the continuum of care for patients; developing, delivering and evaluating education programs on wound, ostomy and continence care; participating in wound , ostomy and continence care product line review; participating in research into wound, ostomy and continence care products and participating in the development of wound, ostomy and continence policies and procedures. The position will model, promote and facilitate an RNAO Best Practice Guideline (BPG) approach to wound, ostomy and continence care. The position will also support inpatient care but may be required to consult advanced wound, ostomy and continence cases in the ambulatory clinics. Travel between the sites of Niagara Health is required.

The vision of the NHKI is to transform healthcare in Niagara through knowledge generation, knowledge mobilization and capacity building. The mission of the NHKI is to lead community hospital-based research in Canada and to advance health care and health service delivery through research, quality improvement, and education. To this end, we are seeking to fill the position of a Research Coordinator.
This position is intended for candidates with a bachelor's or a master's degree in the field of applied health research or related fields. The candidate will assist in all aspects of research, quality improvement or knowledge mobilization project development, funding, initiation, execution, analysis, interpretation, presentation and publication of results and knowledge dissemination including the creation of education curriculum/modules. The ideal candidate has experience in applied health research, quality improvement and/or knowledge mobilization and has excellent organization, writing and oral presentation skills. The vision of the NHKI is to transform healthcare in Niagara through leading community hospital-based research. The purpose of the NHKI is to improve patient care and experience and embedding research into clinical practice. To this end, we are seeking to fill the position of a Postdoctoral Fellow with a researcher who has experience in the field of health research or related fields.
This position is intended for Candidates with PhD training, and who are on a career track to becoming a Scientist and faculty member in an academic institution. This Individual will be involved in all aspects of research study development, funding, initiation, execution, analysis, interpretation and presentation and publication of results. The ideal candidate has research experience in applied health research expertise in the areas of interest for Niagara Health (e.g., care for older persons, patient experience). The candidate will be accountable to the Executive Director and Chief Scientist of the NHKI and work collaboratively with other NHKI staff and Niagara Health employees engaged in the NHKI activities.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Radiation Therapy Department at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is an expanding program that provides state-of-the-art treatment planning, simulation, and treatment for external beam radiation. Our centre has 3 Linear Accelerators and a CT simulator. The radiation therapist works within a multi-disciplinary department team consisting of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Oncology Nursing, Booking Clerks, Secretaries, and Health Care Aides who collaboratively provide comprehensive patient-centred support to create the best patient experience per the values of Niagara Health. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include administering radiation treatment according to a radiation oncologists' orders for the delivery of radiation planning and treatment, adherence to the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Standards of Practice, documentation of technical and patient related treatment information, integrating reflection, critical thinking, education, and relevant practical experience in problem-solving. The Therapist will take active participation in quality assurance programs and will be required to perform other related duties and activities as assigned.

POSITION OBJECTIVE: Reporting to Executive Vice President, Clinical Operations, the Director, Medical Physics will provide leadership in clinical, educational, and research activities, while leading strategic and transformational change through the implementation of new technology, improvement of clinical processes and by ensuring program quality. This position will supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the Clinical Medical Physics Service for the Radiation Medicine Program at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) through the application of physics to medicine. The Director, Medical Physics will work collaboratively with the Head of Radiation Oncology and the Manager of Radiation Therapy to provide optimal clinical workflow efficiency, high-quality and safe patient-centered care.
The Director, Medical Physics will provide oversight for quality assurance testing, commissioning and calibration of equipment used in the Radiation Medicine Program, provide direction towards new treatment techniques and/or technologies and advise radiation oncologists and dosimetrists as required. In addition, the successful candidate will carry out key management level duties, such as oversight of medical physics department daily operations, employee evaluation and work assignment, project management, radiation capital equipment procurement, manage capital and operational budgets, professional and technical mentorship of staff, recruitment, and internal/external collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
This position is eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment through the Department of Physics at Brock University for teaching and research related to novel methods of cancer diagnosis and/or therapy. In the future, the Director, Medical Physics will help coordinate an academic relationship with McMaster University through their CAMPEP-accredited graduate level and residency programs.

INFRASTRUCTURE: The Medical Physics Department at the WFCC currently consists of a team of five Medical Physicists, two Physics Associates, a Physics Systems Administrator, an Oncology Application Specialist, and a dedicated Biomedical Technologist. The successful applicant will join a rapidly growing radiation treatment program, and will play a significant role in the transformation of the program over the next five years, including directing the implementation of the new treatment planning system and guiding the pending linear accelerator replacements. o CT simulation has transitioned toward a state-of-the-art Canon Aquilion Exceed LB scanner o Treatment planning will evolve from the Philips Pinnacle to the RaySearch RayStation platform o MOSAIQ oncology information system has recently transitioned and implemented locally o Three Elekta Synergy/Agility linear accelerators will all be replaced with advanced radiation delivery systems capable of SRS/SBRT/VMAT/IGRT/SGRT. The first linear accelerator replacement is scheduled to be with the Varian Edge stereotactic platform o AI-based contouring is available using Limbus AI software modelling o Motion management is performed through the C-RAD Sentinel 4DCT and Catalyst HD systems o DICOM manipulation / PACS storage is managed using the MIMVista platform o Ultimaker S5 3D printer bundle is available for custom RT applications
