WAGE RANGE: $44.67 TO $57.90 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a member of the interprofessional team, participates in formulation of individual treatment programs; collaborates with other interprofessional staff and community partners to develop, implement and evaluate person/family-centred programming. Maintains Standards of Practice as defined by the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The successful candidate's home site will be the Welland Hospital; however, travel between sites of Niagara Health may be required. Evening and weekend hours will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o MSW from an accredited University
o Current registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers (OCSWSSW) required
o Recent experience in a high volume emergency department
o Minimum of three years recent experience in a mental health setting
o Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity, and expertise in the care of older adults and their families
o Demonstrated current knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness, social work intervention strategies, and treatment modalities for clients with psychiatric disorders
o Experience working with equity-seeking populations (i.e. Elderly, LGBTQ2S+, Mental Health, Addictions, Homeless, and Indigenous)
o Demonstrated crisis intervention, case management skills, knowledge of behavioral techniques, one-on-one counselling and family counselling
o Knowledge of community resources (i.e. addiction resources, harm reduction programs, treatment programs, counselling resources)
o Demonstrated knowledge, training and recent experience in providing individual Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing
o Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously as well as in collaboration within an interprofessional healthcare team
o Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, which includes Mental Health Act, Healthcare Consent Act, and Substitute Decisions Act
o Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain effective professional and therapeutic relationships with clients
o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
o Ability to work effectively to ensure patient flow and effective caseload management within established targets
o Demonstrated computer skills including use of Microsoft Office, Meditech, and Coordinated Care Plans
o Excellent organizational and time management skills, including ability to prioritize workload
o Excellent work performance and attendance record is essential
o Proficiency in computer skills and within Microsoft Word applications
o Applies Niagara Health CORE values, professional practice standards, and recovery/client-centered philosophy to client care and services
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
