STATUS: REGULAR PART TIME
DEPARTMENT: LOGISTICS
LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST. CATHARINES / MULTI SITE
HOURS OF WORK: APPROX. 48 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD; 3 week rotation as follows
WK 1 - Thurs/Fri - 8:00 - 14:30, Sat - 8:00 - 12:30, Sun 7:00 - 15:00
WK 2 - Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri - 9:30 - 16:00
WK 3, WK 4 - Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri - 8:00 - 14:30
WK 5 - Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri - 7:00 - 12:00, Thurs - 7:00 - 11:00

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-SERVICE
WAGE RANGE: $27.639 to $29.092 per hour

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Receives, unpacks, stores, issues, carries/or transports all supplies and equipment (i.e. medical, non-medical) to designated storage locations. Checks unit supply carts utilizing manual counting techniques / or handheld computer technology and electronically transmits requirements to a central picking and packing location. Picks and packs required supplies and restocks supply carts and verifies accuracy against picking slip. Performs all data input into the Materials Management information system related to receiving and/or stock issues and returns. Performs other related duties as assigned. Shift rotations are subject to change.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
o Must have a current Class III Forklift Operator Safety Certificate
o Minimum of two years' experience within the last four years in a hospital stores environment including transporting and storage of medical supplies and medical equipment
o Excellent knowledge of medical and surgical supplies
o Good working knowledge of Materials Management Information Systems and Inventory Control Systems is essential including the use of hand held scanning technology
o Good interpersonal and communications skills with attention for detail and accuracy
o Communication skills sufficient to understand both written and verbal directions
o Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds
o Valid Driver's License required
o Proficient computer skills
o Knowledge of proper body mechanics to be utilized during materials handling processes
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, judgment and decision-making skills
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick time and paid holidays
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
