WAGE RANGE: $46.446 TO $52.549 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the Manager, Workplace Relations, you will enable a respectful work environment for all by delivering projects that meet our diversity, equity and inclusion plan objectives. These diversity, equity, and inclusion projects will be developed and refined based on evidence informed practices, while remaining on time, on scope and on budget. The successful candidate will apply project management methodology with deep knowledge and experience in diversity, equity and inclusion programs. Working in partnership with the HR team and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, you will execute projects to successful completion. You have superior interpersonal, teamwork and conflict management skills, and are a skilled facilitator who can bring people to the table and create a safe space for open, insightful dialogue that propels our diversity, inclusion and equity work forward. This position, based in Welland, involves travel between all Niagara Health sites.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead strategic DEI input into key organizational processes, such as policy updates and implementation, recruitment and selection, leadership frameworks and organizational development; develop and facilitate DEI trainings and workshops for Board, Leadership, physicians and staff using evidence-based methodology and best practice in a manner that ensures knowledge transfer; develop and implement positive action approaches to increase diversity and inclusion at all levels of the organization; act as a subject matter expert within the organization; consult with Human Resources on DEI and human rights related matters using comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation including the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act; and identify opportunities for growth and proactively implement measures to address them based on best practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o University degree specializing in human services, or a health-related field preferred
o Experience in a complex health care or public sector setting would be an asset
o Experience with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and leading sustainable culture change and transformation
o Demonstrated commitment to improving and enhancing a mutually respectful workplace
o Demonstrated experience planning and executing on projects efficiently and effectively
o Experience implementing change initiatives that are sustainable
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
o Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate in a meaningful way, including in presentation formats to a wide variety of audiences
o Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action
o Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem solving abilities
o Superior conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, coaching and negotiation
o Consistent and regular attendance required
