STATUS: TEMPORARY FULL TIME
DEPARTMENT: IMAGING ADMIN - DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES
LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST CATHARINES
HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY; MONDAY TO FRIDAY; WEEKENDS, EVENINGS
POSTING DATE: 20 DECEMBER 2024

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-CLERICAL
WAGE RANGE: $25.709 to $27.570
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As a member of the patient care team, the Patient Scheduler works under the direction of the Manager of Diagnostic Services or delegate and fulfills a variety of functions including clerical, reception, public relations, burning CDs and bookings. Shift rotations including statutory holidays. Shift rotations are subject to change.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of a Medical Office Assistant program or the equivalent in related experience
o Medical Terminology Certificate and must be proficient in Diagnostic Imaging terminology
o A minimum of one year Community Wide Scheduling (CWS) experience
o High degree of accuracy in keyboarding skills with minimum 45 wpm
o One year experience of computers and computer programs including knowledge of Microsoft Office and Meditech
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communications, judgment and decision-making skills
o Knowledge of office equipment (telephone, fax, photocopiers)
o Excellent communication skills and ability to respect the confidentially of personnel and patient information
o Demonstrated professional attitude while interacting with the public, patients, employees and medical staff
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick time and paid holidays
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
