POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the Site Director, the successful individual will be accountable for the delivery of a positive patient experience, patient flow, people management, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, results oriented leader who consistently demonstrates an innovative, creative, and collaborative management style. The successful candidate will foster an environment of inclusion, attentive listening, respect, sensitivity, kindness, patience and empathy along with ensuring clinical excellence.
Reporting to the Site Director for Surgical Services, the successful individual will be responsible for operational management of a large in-patient surgical population. In this role, you will be accountable for the patient experience, day to day operations, patient flow, people management, fiscal stewardship, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or other Professional College
o Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other healthcare professional degree; Master's degree preferred
o Project Management, Leadership, Healthcare Finance, LEAN or other related certification(s) will be an asset
o Two to five years of managerial/leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of educational training and experience
o Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies/ procedures
o Dynamic interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, change management, people management, visionary thinking, customer service, and problem solving
o Demonstrated results in aligning program goals with corporate strategy, and the NH Corporate Mission & Values
o Ability to build and lead a cohesive team, through engagement, transparency, respect and responsiveness
o Demonstrated commitment to an exceptional patient experience including access, flow, quality and patient satisfaction
o Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, interpret data and utilize information in order to make effective financial decisions
o Experience in the analysis and utilization of data to drive continuous quality improvement
o Experience in the management of risk and safety for patients and staff
o Proven experience in building external and community partnerships
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in the health or business sectors
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset
