LOCATION: MAROTTA FAMILY HOSPITAL, ST. CATHARINES
HOURS OF WORK: MUST BE AVAILABLE 45 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

WAGE RANGE: $39.070 TO $56.00 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The objective of the Registered Nurse is to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. The successful candidate's home site will be the St. Catharines Site and must be willing to work at two or more sites. The focus of the role is in the WFCC clinics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
o One year related clinical experience in the past three years in an outpatient Oncology environment
o Current BCLS certification
o Successful completion of Oncology certificate course or deSouza Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice course
o Successful completion of deSouza Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course or the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate course
o Canadian Nursing certification (CNA) in Oncology preferred
o Demonstrated knowledge of and skill with IV Therapy Initiation, CVADs, and safe handling, administration and disposal of anti-neoplastic medication
o Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
o Demonstrated ability to develop an integrated plan of care
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting nursing practice standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and related professional associations ie. Canadian Association on Nurses in Oncology (CANO)
o Applies NH values and professional practice standards, infection control practices and patient/client centered care model and service
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, conflict resolution skills and relevant practical experience in problem solving
o Working knowledge of computers
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
