HOURS OF WORK: ON CALL AS NEEDED

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-SERVICE
WAGE RANGE: $28.129 TO $29.480 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Personal Support Worker functions as a nursing team member assisting the patients in the Hospital to meet their basic physical, social, and emotional needs, along with any other duties that may be required within the scope of the classification. Shift rotations are subject to change.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
o Successful completion of the Personal Support Worker Program or equivalent education as a RN student completion of year 2 or greater, RPN student completion of term 2 or greater
o Current CPR
o Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
o Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, judgment and decision-making skills
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Must be available for all shifts, vacation replacement, sick time and paid holidays
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
