HOURS OF WORK: ON-CALL AS NEEDED; MONDAY TO FRIDAY, STATS

WAGE RANGE: $30.49 TO $35.15
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Morgue Attendant will work under the general supervision of the Charge Technologist perform related functions associated with pre autopsy, autopsy and post autopsy process to include assisting pathologists, maneuvering and preparing bodies, specimen transport, maintenance, supplies management, cleaning, disinfection, hazardous material and biological specimen storage and controlled disposal.
Functioning as a team player and working with other laboratory staff and/or healthcare professionals to achieve optimum operation of the Laboratory Medicine Program. The successful candidate will support and practice quality management principles such as quality assurance and continuous quality improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Graduate of an accredited Laboratory Assistant Program
o Education in forensic science and/or human anatomy and advanced knowledge of methods used to assist in autopsy
o Previous experience working in an autopsy suite and grossing techniques
o General knowledge of relevant chemicals and other hazardous materials
o General knowledge of equipment to perform job related functions
o Ability to move about which include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and maneuvering bodies
o Demonstrates organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decision-making skills
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Applies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
o Working knowledge of computers and other related Hospital systems
o Knowledge of risk management policies and procedures
o Must be ready and able to work all shift rotations to include days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and on-call
