HOURS OF WORK: APPROX. 30 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD; MONDAY TO FRIDAY

UNION: SERVICE EMPLOYEE'S INTERNATIONAL UNION-SERVICE
WAGE RANGE: $30.394 to $31.994
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Under the direction of a Registered Dietitian, the incumbent will conduct patient screening, meal rounds/visitations, nutritional follow-up and diet instruction. Documentation is maintained in the patient medical record and nutrition software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Completion of the Food Service Supervisor Certificate Program or University degree in Human Nutrition required.
o Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management required.
o Minimum of one year experience as a Clinical Nutrition Assistant working extensively with a broad range of therapeutic diets in an acute hospital setting within the last two (2) years required.
o Experience with patient interviewing and screening of medical records including documentation in an acute hospital setting within the last two (2) years required.
o Experience with data entry using a nutrition software program within the last two (2) years required.
o Participation in continuing education opportunities to enhance related professional knowledge is required.
o Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decision making skills.
o Self-directed, flexible and able to work effectively with minimal supervision in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
o Supportive of departmental goals and objectives.
o Demonstration of initiative to promote total quality improvement.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
o Full vaccination in accordance with Niagara Health's Vaccination Policy.
