WAGE RANGE: $40.80 TO $51.98 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote excellence, quality patient/client care and high professional standards, the Speech Language Pathologist will assess, treat and program for the inpatient units. He/she will work in an acute care setting and will also program for a Communications Disorder's Assistant. The incumbent will perform all other relevant duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the department to which s/he is assigned. Casual positions available at all sites.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Master's Degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology.
o Registration with CASLPO.
o VFSA experience an asset.
o Experience with acquired communications and swallowing disorders and familiarity with providing service in an acute care setting preferred.
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting professional practice standards as outlined by the College Of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists and related professional associations.
o Applied NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education, expanded scope of practice and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment, and decision-making skills.
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
