HOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Niagara Health is entering a time of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future to focus on digital health technologies that scale far beyond the traditional walls of the hospital. With a vision for supporting an efficient patient experience and a consistent approach to clinical best practices, Niagara Health is preparing to implement a modern Hospital Information System (HIS) in 2024.
As a valued member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the testing process for HIS software as well as all the integrated applications. You will work closely with developers, project managers, and end-users to ensure that applications meet quality standards and user requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Develop and implement testing plans and strategies for software applications and systems
o Coordinate with developers to ensure that testing environments are set up correctly and that testing is conducted in a timely and efficient manner
o Manage the execution of test cases and scripts, ensuring that all defects are tracked and resolved
o Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to ensure that user requirements are met and that testing is conducted according to established timelines
o Develop and maintain documentation related to testing processes and procedures, including test cases and scripts, and test results
o Monitor testing progress and provide regular status reports to stakeholders
o Provide technical support to end-users during testing and post-implementation
QUALIFICATIONS:
o College Diploma or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
o 3+ years of experience working in a similar role, with a focus on software testing and quality assurance
o Strong understanding of software development principles, programming languages, and database management systems
o Experience with testing methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
o Familiarity with industry standards such as ISTQB or TMMi
o Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
