POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Niagara Health is entering a time of great opportunity and we are looking for exceptional individuals to be part of our extraordinary team and future to focus on digital health technologies that scale far beyond the traditional walls of the hospital. With a vision for supporting an efficient patient experience and a consistent approach to clinical best practices, Niagara Health is preparing to implement a modern Hospital Information System (HIS) in 2024.
As a valued member of the team this role will be responsible for ensuring that various software systems and applications are able to communicate and work seamlessly with each other. You will be tasked with identifying and resolving any issues that arise during the integration process, ensuring that data is being transmitted accurately, and making sure that all systems are working in accordance with established standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and analyze the interoperability needs of various systems and applications
o Administer interface engine
o Develop and implement strategies for integrating new and existing systems and applications
o Test and troubleshoot interoperability issues to ensure seamless integration between different systems and applications
o Monitor and maintain system integrations, ensuring that data is being transmitted accurately and efficiently
o Develop and maintain documentation related to system integration processes, including diagrams and flowcharts
o Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices related to interoperability and system integration
o Train and educate end-users on how to use integrated systems and applications
o Identify potential risks and proactively recommend solutions to mitigate them
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum 5 years of ICT and business/industry work experience including system integration and interoperability
o Strong understanding of software development principles, programming languages, and database management systems
o Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
o Experience with API development, web services, and data exchange protocols
o Familiarity with industry standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM
o Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
EDUCATION:
o Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, system analysis, or a related field, with equivalent work experience.
