WAGE RANGE: $52.13 TO $59.43 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Functioning as a member of the medical team, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for ongoing assessment, planning, management and treatment of patients following the scope of practice and standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and Canadian Nurses Association. The Nurse Practitioner will report directly to the Site Director and will provide leadership and promote excellence in patient-centred care through expert practice, education, leadership, and research. The successful candidate will provide care with an emphasis on wellness, prevention and disease management through direct patient care, health promotion and education, outreach, and advocacy and will collaborate with physician partners as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration in good standing as a Registered Nurse Extended Class Primary Health Care or Adult Certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
o Completion of Nurse Practitioner Program
o Must have successfully completed CNO approved controlled substances education
o Must have professional Liability Protection (RNAO or equivalent)
o Minimum of 3 years' experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care
o Minimum of 5 years' clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in Acute Care
o Demonstrated clinical leadership skills to organize and coordinate the care of patients in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and the health care team
o Proven success in providing inspirational leadership in a team environment and ability to encourage innovation and creativity amongst team members required
o Ability to promote professional education and advanced knowledge through research and evaluation/quality improvement activities related to care of patients throughout the continuum.
o Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
o Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
o Strong analytical and conceptual skills required
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario
o Must be willing to work flexible hours to reflect patient population needs
o Consistent and regular attendance required

o Proficiency in French would be an asset
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
