WAGE RANGE: $35.520 TO $50.850 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The objective of the Registered Nurse is to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect. The incumbent will perform all other relevant duties assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the unit to which s/he is assigned. The successful candidate's home site will be the Site listed above and must be willing to work at two or more sites. In the event there are no qualified applicants, this will be considered a training opportunity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
o One year related clinical experience in the past three years in an emergency environment
o Current BCLS certification
o ACLS, PALS and TNCC certification preferred
o Emergency Nursing certification (CNA) preferred
o Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale training preferred
o Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
o Certification in delegated controlled acts including; defibrillation, dispensing medication and application of energy
o Demonstrated proficiency in IV Therapy Initiation, phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring/interpretation, and care of ventilated patients/clients
o Demonstrated knowledge and skill in physical assessment (Physical Assessment Course preferred)
o Demonstrated ability to develop an integrated plan of care
o Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation
o Current knowledge of emergency nursing standards in accordance with the National Emergency Nurses Affiliation (NENA)
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving
o Applies leadership skills by providing, facilitating and promoting quality patient care
o Demonstrated commitment to patient and family education and the ability to promote health and wellness
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting nursing practice standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and related professional associations
o Evidence of accurate, timely and appropriate documentation according to best practice guidelines and CNO standards
o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
o Working knowledge of computers
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
