WAGE RANGE: $28.966 TO $32.772
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations & Capital, the Accounting Analyst will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of accurate and timely financial information for various departments of the Niagara Health System with particular focus on Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Capital. Duties will include preparation of bank reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, variance analysis, budget templates, monthly reporting, audit working papers and any other financial analysis as required for internal or external reporting purposes. In addition, the incumbent may be involved in other special projects and initiatives as required. Some travel between the sites of Niagara Health may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Degree or Diploma in Accounting required.
o Minimum 3 years' of experience in financial analysis required.
o Recent previous experience in bank reconciliations with high transaction volumes required.
o Experience in computerized Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable functions required, preferably in a health care setting.
o Recent experience in capital project reporting preferred.
o Working knowledge of MIS guidelines.
o Recent experience maintaining computer system tables or dictionaries.
o Working knowledge of all aspects of hospital billing preferred.
o Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team setting.
o Ability to meet deadlines in a high pressure, time sensitive environment.
o Strong computer skills required in all Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook).
o Excellent organizational skills and the ability to set priorities in a fast paced environment.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset.
o Consistent and regular attendance required
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
