POSITION OBJECTIVE:
As an integral member of the Pharmacy team, the Pharmacy Manager will provide overall leadership and effective day-to-day management of Pharmacy services, programs and personnel for both inpatient pharmacy and WFCC pharmacy.
Principal responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing all aspects of pharmacy services including daily operations, management of staff and resources, project management, quality improvement, budgeting, maintaining compliance with all policies, procedures, accreditation requirements and regulations, medication safety, and quality improvement. A thorough understanding of the NH medication use process, technology and automation, clinical pharmacy practice, and medication distribution activities is required.
The Pharmacy Manager facilitates communication, coordination, and collaboration among disciplines/clinical program managers regarding identification, planning, and provision of high quality, cost-effective medication-related care. The Pharmacy Manager is a resource within the organization in his/her area of expertise and leads site initiatives that will optimize the safety, quality, delivery and efficiency of the medication-use system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy degree highly preferred
o Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) required
o Pharmacy Residency an asset
o Experience: At minimum over 2-3 years practical and related supervisory, management, or leadership experience required
o Pharmacy practice in a hospital setting with up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy operations required
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
o Excellent organizational and time management skills
o Excellent analytical skills
o Ability to manage workload with frequent changes
o Ability to plan and coordinate various assignments and projects
