WAGE RANGE: $28.395 TO $32.126 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Cardiology Research Coordinator will coordinate and administer clinical research studies and investigator initiated or industry sponsored trials. The Coordinator will work under the supervision of Cardiology Research Physicians and the Research Office. Typical duties may include: protocol development; following and conducting daily study operations; identifying study participants; obtaining informed consent; carrying out patient visits; data input and analysis; completing research ethics board submissions and amendments; educating healthcare staff; and other duties required to support clinical trials in the Cardiology Program. Administrative tasks may include assisting in documenting chart notes, preparing updates for study and participating in meetings; maintaining study records in accordance with regulatory requirements; tracking expenditures in budgets and providing assistance in preparing financial summaries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Related university degree and experience in research, with knowledge of research procedures and regulations an asset.
o Experience in health care environment, especially in critical and acute inpatient cardiac services and ambulatory care.
o Enthusiasm for advancing science in the practice of cardiology medicine.
o Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new situations.
o Proven ability of ensuring confidentiality of information.
o Demonstrated ability to handle a large and diversified workload often with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
o Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, especially in interactions with patients and substitute decision makers.
o Excellent written communication, proofreading and editing skills.
o Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
o Superior organizational and problem solving skills.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to prioritize and work effectively with minimal supervision.
o Consistent and regular attendance required, with a flexible schedule an asset.
o Working knowledge of all Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Access)
o Ability to manage databases related to research projects.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
