WAGE RANGE: $31.423 TO $35.553 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Coordinator, Spiritual Care, the After-Hours On- Call Spiritual Care Provider will provide holistic care to patients, families, staff, and volunteers on an on-call basis for urgent referrals across all of the Niagara Health System locations. Functioning as a member of the inter-professional healthcare team in the provision of spiritual care, duties may include accompaniment, counselling, prayer, provision of rituals, sacramental ministry, and referral.
Call-in hours are 4:30 pm to 8:30 am weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and statutory holidays. The successful candidate will become part of a self-scheduling team of four which (one-at-a-time) covers Niagara Health on a rotational basis, under the direction of the Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Completion of one year of a Master's degree either in Divinity or a clinically relevant field, and completion of one Advanced Unit of Supervised Pastoral Education within the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC) preferred. (A minimum of two Supervised Pastoral Education Units and a completed baccalaureate are mandatory.)
o Excellent interpersonal, communication, and spiritual & religious care skills.
o Strong knowledge of all relevant community resources available.
o Ability to integrate spirituality and psychology in clinical practice.
o Good working knowledge of Professional and Clinical Ethics.
o Ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team.
o Superior knowledge of issues, principles and practices related to spiritual and religious care.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
