HOURS OF WORK: MUST BE AVAILABLE 45 HOURS PER PAY PERIOD

WAGE RANGE: $32.660 TO $46.760 PER HOUR
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Working to promote nursing excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Registered Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, nursing diagnosis, integrated care plan development, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The objective of the Registered Nurse is to provide safe and competent care through the application of nursing knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
o Registered as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.
o Two years related clinical experience in the past five years in a labour and delivery / obstetrical environment.
o Current experience providing consultation regarding breastfeeding and/or obstetrical nursing within the past two years.
o Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
o Current BCLS certification.
o Knowledge of and commitment to promoting, protecting and supporting breastfeeding and family-centred care.
o Demonstrated knowledge and skill in physical assessment (Physical Assessment course preferred).
o Demonstrated ability to develop an integrated plan of care.
o Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting nursing practice standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and related professional associations.
o Applies Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
o Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving.
o Working knowledge of computers.
o Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
