WAGE RANGE: $44.722 TO $50.599 per hour
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager - Accounting/Budgets and Internal Controls, the Senior Financial Advisor is responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for various programs of the Niagara Health System, including financial statements and various other reports. Strong analytical and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently. To qualify, you must have three years of experience as a Financial Analyst, as well as a CA, CMA or CGA designation. The willingness to take initiative combined with the ability to work in a pressurized, time sensitive environment makes you our ideal candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Baccalaureate Degree or diploma in Accounting or Business Administration, or related discipline with Accounting major.
o Designated accountant - CA, CMA or CGA designation required.
o Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial analysis.
o Understanding of GAAP, PSAS and Ministry Information Standards (OHRS/MIS certificate) practices.
o Excellent analytical skills, with attention to explaining key variances
o Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, primarily Excel functions such as vlookups, pivot tables
o Solid experience with computerized accounting systems; MediTech financial systems experience an asset.
o Excellent attention to detail.
o Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team.
o Ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment.
o Evidence of effective organizational, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
