WAGE RANGE: 22.346 TO 23.327
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Kidney Care Program the successful candidate will work in a team-based environment performing a variety of service related duties. Duties include threading, priming and disinfecting dialysis machines, safe portering of patients, ordering of supplies and the distribution and supply of equipment for the dialysis departments. As this is a Regional Program, you must be able to work at two or more sites. If no qualified applicants this position will be considered a training opportunity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
o PSW Certificate required
o Recent related clinical experience in a hemodialysis environment
o Current knowledge of Infection Control Practices and the use of personal safety apparel
o Basic knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to read and understand patient records and identify the proper equipment to be utilized
o Current knowledge of the proper procedures for threading, priming, disinfecting and dialysis machines
o Safe transfer and lifting knowledge and skills for safe patient portering and lifting an asset
o Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families and other members of the healthcare team
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decision-making skills
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
o Must be available for all shifts
o Consistent and regular attendance required
