WAGE RANGE: $40.250 TO $45.539 PER HOUR

POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Director, Interprofessional Practice, Ethics & Research, and working closely-and-collaboratively with the Coordinator of Spiritual & Religious Care (who manages the Department). This position will provide spiritual and religious care to patients, families, staff and volunteers at the St. Catharines Site (SCS) and will be responsible for all aspects of the continuing Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at the SCS including supervision of CPE interns/students, program accreditation and sustainability. This individual functions as a member of the inter-professional health care team in the provision of direct care, doing so by supervising interns/students in their clinical placements, or else by directly providing care during periods without interns/students.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o A CASC Specialist in CPE plus Teaching Supervisor CPE, or Provisional Teaching Supervisor CPE eligible and committed to obtain Teaching Supervisor certification within 12 months.
o Graduate degree in theology or a clinically related field, as required for certification as a Specialist by CASC/ACSS.
o Registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
o Endorsement by a recognized religious faith group to function as a spiritual and religious care provider within a hospital context.
o Continuing good standing in a faith community affiliated with the chaplain's own (personal) religious tradition.
o Superior knowledge of issues, principles and practices related to spiritual and religious care.
o Good working knowledge of Professional and Clinical Ethics.
o Excellent interpersonal, communication and spiritual & religious care skills.
o Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
o Ability to work effectively within an inter-professional team.
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
