POSITION OBJECTIVE:
In alignment with the Mission and Values of Niagara Health, we are recruiting a dynamic leader who excels in engaging people, promoting quality, building successful teams, planning and decision making. Reporting to the Outpatient Manager of Mental Health and Addictions Program, the successful individual will be responsible for the operational management of the Integrated Mobile Program for Acute Community Treatment (IMPACT) team. In this role, the Clinical Lead will have all interprofessional team members as direct reports and will work with them to oversee a quality patient experience, day to day operations, patient flow, people management, fiscal stewardship, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care through a commitment to continuous improvement.
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, results oriented social worker who consistently applies a systems perspective to the Clinical Lead work and demonstrates an innovative, creative, and collaborative leadership style. QUALIFICATIONS:
o Master's Degree in Social work (MSW).
o Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and thorough knowledge of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice documents.
o Minimum of 5 years related clinical experience in a mental health and addictions setting .
o Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of quality improvement and program development.
o Demonstrated knowledge and application of evidence-based practice including relevant Quality Standards.
o Sound analytical skills including; conceptualizing, developing and executing a wide variety of projects.
o Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an inter-professional team.
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large/diversified workload with rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
o Superior interpersonal and leadership skills including but not limited to; critical thinking, communication, responsiveness, conflict resolution, change management, visionary thinking, organizational skills, effective customer service, decision-making skills and problem solving.
o Working knowledge of the Public Hospitals Act, regulated legislation, labour agreements, hospital policies/ procedures.
o Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
o Understanding of the social determinants of health, and the social consequences and risk factors associated with serious mental illnesses (e.g., homelessness, suicide, stigma, addiction, involvement with the criminal justice system).
o Knowledge of and an ability to apply principles of recovery/client-centred care in all aspects of leadership role.
o Knowledge of community systems and resources for the purpose of networking between the facility/program and other services.
o Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
o Excellent interpersonal skills.
o Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
o Ability to diffuse conflict and foster collaborative working relationships.
o Willingness and ability to continue to improve professional competence and knowledge.
o Applies NHS values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service.
o Working knowledge of computers.
o Consistent and regular attendance required
