POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services, the successful individual will be accountable for the delivery of a positive patient experience, patient flow, people management, risk management and safety, and the provision of high quality care. Working in a dyad model with physician leadership, the Manager will drive effective operations and foster community and academic partnerships aimed at improving transitions of care for the patients and communities we serve.
The Clinical Manager will work closely with the regional Perioperative Program, the successful candidate will provide leadership in management for the Operating Room, Recovery Room, Pre-Op Clinic and Day Surgery at the Niagara Falls & Welland Sites.

QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other healthcare professional degree; Master's degree preferred
o Current registration with relevant regulatory body and membership in applicable professional association
o Minimum of five years of managerial/leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education/training and experience
o Experience in surgical services or perioperative care preferred
o Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of quality improvement, program design and evaluation
o Sound analytical skills including; conceptualizing, and developing and executing a wide variety of projects
o Demonstrated evidence of Project Management skills involving planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific goals and objectives
o Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal planning, and financial management, with a proven ability to monitor and control expenditures in line with organizational goals and priorities
o Strong understanding of financial reporting, cost analysis, and variance analysis, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to ensure budget adherence and optimize resource allocation
o Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
o Demonstrated ability to manage a large and diversified workload with often rapidly changing priorities and challenging deadlines
o Evidence of effective customer service, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
o Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
o Flexible, self-directed and able to multi-task
o Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in healthcare or business
o Ability to work in a matrix model, i.e. program and site
o Consistent and regular attendance required
