WAGE RANGE: $17.00 per hour
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Screener support position will be a member supporting Niagara Health with COVID19 related activities. This position will assist with the screening of patients, visitors, staff, physicians and vendors as they enter Niagara Health. Responsibilities will include:
o Greet all persons entering the hospital, ask screening questions and assess eligibility for entrance
o Ensuring all persons entering the facility follow proper precautionary measures and wear the correct PPE as required
o Ensuring all persons entering the building perform hand hygiene prior to proceeding through building
o Provide direction and protocols to follow if the individual is deemed unsafe to enter the building
o Responsible to prepare stations and clean up stations at beginning and end of shift
This position will work between all screening stations and must be available for all shifts day, evening, night and on-call, 7 days a week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent
o Volunteer or work experience in a health care setting is an asset
o Customer service and conflict resolution experience is an asset
o Must be physically capable to perform the duties of the position and tasks including: bending, turning, lifting, walking and standing for extended periods of time.
o Demonstrate strong decision-making skills
o Demonstrated ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team and build good working relationships.
o Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
o Ability to adapt to constantly changing environments
o Ability to follow direction and procedure
o Practices confidentiality
o Practices behaviors consistent with NH values (i.e. Compassion/Professionalism/Respect)
o Consistent and regular attendance required.
o Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
