As a team member of the of the Niagara Health Redevelopment Office and an integral part of the overall Project Team, the Project Senior Specialist , Equipment will provide technical equipment leadership for the South Niagara Capital Project and additional capital redevelopment initiatives within the Niagara Health portfolio of facilities.
The Project Senior Specialist, Equipment will bring a broad understanding of the development of equipment planning documents, procurement, move, and equipment commissioning and training to the position. A strong understanding of clinical and equipment planning, and design of healthcare projects delivered using a Public-Private-Partnership (P3) framework, and in particular, the DBFM model is an asset.
The Project Senior Specialist, Equipment should have working knowledge of the policies, procedures, and process of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Infrastructure Ontario; and exhibit strong project management skills, as well as strong inter-personal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing or Clinical background
o 10+ years in related field
o Accredited Member with the applicable Professional Association is considered an asset
o Project management experience as part of a healthcare capital planning project team, including experience working in a Design Build Finance Maintain DBFM project is considered an asset
o Project planning, development and implementation skills
o Proven experience in working effectively within diverse teams of project consultants, s and user groups
o Able to work in a fast paced, results and schedule driven team environment
o PMP designation is an asset
o Knowledge of Broader Public Guidelines and guidelines and best practices for procurement processes is required
o Experience with creation of procurement documents (RFT, RFQ, RFP, RFSQ) is an asset
o Detailed understanding of clinical equipment
o Experience working with outside vendors
o Knowledge of equipment impacts on design
o Understanding of CSA Standards and other applicable standards
o Commissioning and Decommissioning experience
o Understanding of LHIN and MoH capital project processes
o Understanding of Infrastructure Ontario P3 project delivery method
o Highly developed influencing, communications and presentation skills
o Consultation, negotiation and consensus building skills
o Experience in finding positive solutions to complex issues and problems with a variety of stakeholders
o Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
o Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
o Demonstrated ability to manage complex and concurrent project activities, meet deadlines and manage change is essential
o Well versed with MS Project, SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite
o Experience in a clinical hospital setting is an asset
