POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations & Capital, the successful candidate will provide leadership, management and direction to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team within the Finance department. The supervisor will coordinate all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and procedures and manage and oversee all patient and client financial services including revenue generation, billing, collections, discount maximization and cash flow management. Through the efficient use of technology they will oversee monthly, quarterly and year end reporting requirements, maintain set up of relevant computer systems as required, and ensure appropriate internal controls are in place. The supervisor has overall responsible for the accuracy, validity, consistency, and timeliness of accounts payable, fixed asset and accounts receivable information used for reporting to internal stakeholders and external agencies. The incumbent will demonstrate a strong commitment to NH's mission, vision, and values; and will act as a resource to hospital management and front line staff, other finance functions, shared service organizations, patients, vendors and external agencies in issues relating to management of the payable and receivable functions. The incumbent must demonstrate a progressive approach to management, team building skills and strong prioritization skills in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
o Degree or Diploma in business administration, accounting or finance required
o Minimum 5 years' experience administering accounts payable and accounts receivable, preferably within a large healthcare organization
o Direct managerial/leadership experience, preferably in a unionized environment
o Extensive knowledge of all aspects of health care billing including provincial legislation
o Knowledge of MIS guidelines, PHIPPA and BPS guidelines & directives
o Experience and proficiency in the setup, maintenance and use of computerized accounts payable, fixed asset, and billing and accounts receivable systems, preferably Meditech.
o Strong computer skills required in all Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
o Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices and financial analysis
o Evidence of superior interpersonal and leadership skills and abilities including but not limited to; communication, responsiveness, conflict and complaint resolution, team building, change management, organizational skills, effective customer service and decision-making
o Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret collective agreements, and personnel policies and procedures
o Integrates education, critical thinking, analytical skills and relevant practical experience in problem solving
o Demonstrated ability to manage a diversified workload, changing priorities and multiple deadlines
